Count us out of alleged Supreme Headquarters in Imo – IPOB
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has debunked claims made by the joint military operations linking IPOB and its Eastern Security Network (ESN) to an alleged unlawful Supreme Headquarters in Imo State.
The joint military operations had earlier claimed that they have successfully destroyed IPOB/ESN Supreme Headquarters in Imo state, where bombs and ammunition were allegedly recovered.
The disclosure was made by Hassan Taiwo-Dada, the Force Commander, Joint Task Force South-east Operation Udo Ka, while addressing journalists at a press briefing held at Eke-Ututu community in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo state.
However, in a statement issued and released on Saturday by the Media and Publicity Secretary of the IPOB, Emma Powerful, the group distanced itself from the alleged criminals. IPOB alleged that the criminals in question are infiltrators recruited and funded by a double agent in Finland, Simon Ekpa.
Furthermore, Powerful maintained that IPOB and ESN are a responsible Biafra movement fighting terror and all forms of criminalities in Eastern land.
Meanwhile, Ekpa, a Finnish citizen of Nigerian origin, is a factional leader of IPOB.
